Montréal Quebec’s ambient power trio Torngat create majestic instrumental music that is at times as breathtaking as the glorious Quebec mountain range from whom they take their name. They put on a very energetic and inspiring performance and sound a lot bigger than a trio. Their heavy use of organs recalls elements of Tom Waits and even hints of the pre-jazz era Soft Machine.

Opening for Torngat is Halifax's Paper Beat Scissors, a group of rotating guest musicians driven by the bedroom compositions and voice of Tim Crabtree. PBS is known for its beautiful blend of acoustics, electronics and countless other instruments.
